Laryngotracheoesophageal Cleft—A Rare Cause of Respiratory Distress
To the editor,
We agree with the authors that laryngotracheoesophageal cleft (LTEC) is a rare congenital anomaly and is very difficult to diagnose unless there is a high index of suspicion. The rare association of LTEC with tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) accounts for 10% to 20% and with esophageal atresia (EA) accounts for 20% to 37%. We would like to make a few comments based on our experience with LTEC.
